Skill Course botulinum toxin A in the treatment of cervical dystonia and blepharospasm What? The course enhances the knowledge about dystonia, particular attention is paid to cervical dystonia and blepharospasm and treatment with botulinum toxin. Knowledge of the anatomy of the cervicale-, and facial musculature is of great importance. There is extensive attention to. The pharmacology of the botulinum toxin products are discussed, the preparation of injections and potential side effects and how to deal with it. Interactively together with the participants discussed and patients treated with botulinum toxin.
The target group are neurologists who treat patients with dystonia (want to) deal with botulinum toxin. The maximum number of participants: 16 people
The course is one or two times a year held at the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam in collaboration with the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG). Course duration is one day. The next course date is May 24, 2016. The course is taught by Marina de Koning-Tijssen (Neurology, University Medical Center Groningen), Hans Koelman and Miranda Postma of the Department of Neurology and AMC Roeland Kleipool of the Department of Anatomy and Embryology AMC.
